Tuesday, the Kuwaiti government submitted its resignation letter to the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, state news agency KUNA reported.
Earlier, Kuwaiti media outlets quoted official sources saying that the prime minister, Sabah Al-Khaled, will be asked to resign from office and submit his resignation to the Emir.
The source had added that a new prime minister will be appointed.
This came ahead of a no-confidence vote against the PM in parliament.
Notably, Sabah Al-Khaled is a member of the ruling Al-Sabah family and was the head of successive cabinets.
